My cat is so funny. She has thoroughly enjoyed not having any furniture in the condo. It gives her lots of room to race around at top speed. She finds joy and mischief looking in the mirrored closet door. You see she has never seen herself that way before. First time having a full length mirror. She loves to play with the paper that surrounded the china that I brought down with me in my car. Besides that, she is intrigued by the lake outside the lanai. What’s my point? Well, where others would spend time being angry, frustrated, or even just being depressed when the furniture load is taking so long, this particular cat is finding joy. She might even be disappointed when it shows up tomorrow. I too am feeling joyful this morning. Somehow today feels like the beginning of the adventure here. Can’t say why, but that’s the feeling I woke up with. I’m excited for the day. Are you feeling frustrated or angry or depressed about a situation in your life? Is it possible to find a new way of seeing it that can bring you joy? One of my favorite pictures is of Jesus laughing. I am greatly looking forward to seeing it tomorrow. He is the one that can change my sorrow to joy. He can do the same for you.
Oh Jesus, I love your sense of humor. After all, you created blowfish! There are so many funny things in creation. Please help me to laugh today, finding joy in spite of challenges. Amen.
Jeremiah 31:13
Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their morning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
